FOUR CORNERS Donation Christmas Gift
St Andrew UMC is working alongside the Evangelical Methodist Church and the ministry of health in Costa Rica through 4 Corners Global Outreach, a 501c (3) established by St. Andrew to work with global communities, improve health and provide access to basic health care. The first project, the Agape Clinic in Puerto Viejo Saripiqui, is a Volunteer in Mission Opportunity supported by the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. The Clinic is a multifaceted ministry designed to improve the quality of life of those in the greatest need - mind, body and spirit through improved health, economic development, Community Based Health Education and empowerment of women. The ministry reaches the residents of the broader Puerto Viejo Saripiqui community, with a special focus on the large immigrant population in the area who are currently not covered by the Costa Rican health care system.
Lilliana Rojas, the administrator and nurse of the Agape Clinic, serves the women, children and families who have inadequate or no access to basic health care and exist in severe poverty. As construction of the Agape Clinic continues, Lilliana is going door to door in remote, poverty stricken villages in the Puerto Viejo Sarapiqui area. Through her strong faith and nursing skills, she is gaining trust, saving lives, healing and sharing the Gospel to hundreds who are marginalized, lost and without hope.
